ABOUT RUSTY

Having been raised most of his life in rural Montana, Rusty learned at a young age that creativity and ingenuity were the keys to surviving the rural life. From as young as 6 years old, he and his 5 siblings tended to many tasks on the large cattle ranch that their family owned. With the closest gas station 60 miles away, they had to strategically plan their trips into town. So when the inevitable issue came up at the farm, they didn’t have the luxury of a phone call to the mechanic, rather they would figure out a way to fix it themselves. This rugged, mountainous, western upbringing would naturally prepare Rusty for his future as an entrepreneur of many ventures - and ultimately his unique, beautiful and coveted artistic creations.

 

What Rusty may be most known for, among his many other gifts, is his talent for creating horse hair momentos. This was just another way in which Rusty learned a skill and turned it into a highly successful business that brought in millions. He was making momentos for some of the most well-known horses in the Kentucky Derby. Horse owners from around the country would see his work and contact him about creating a memento in memory of their beloved horse. These momentos are by far the product that brought him nationwide and world-wide recognition. 

 

After the recent passing of his wife, Rusty moved to the midwest to be closer to his sister. Since moving to Ohio, he has used the many experiences that life has taught him to rekindle his love for his artistic creations, as well as learning new skills to create some of the most beautiful, unique and coveted pieces of artwork available.
